Steel wool metal surface to clean. Use pencil carbon paper to trace design. Retrace carbon lines with a scriber and remove carbon with steel wool.Paint the design with Asphaltum using fine hair brush. Do not leave air bubbles or thin spots. Allow to dry. Paint surfaces which should not be etched. such as edges and reverse side, with Asphaltum. After paint is comepletely dry (about 5 hours) immerse metal completely inetching bath, using glass or china etching tray. Remove metal from solution when etched to prop[er depth and rinse in water. Use turpentine and steel wool to remove Asphaltum.
